PMA Nigeria (Kano & Lagos) Phase 3 Household and Female survey collects state-level representative data on knowledge, practice, and coverage of family planning services in 25 enumeration areas (EAs) in Kano and 52 EAs in Lagos selected using a multi-stage stratified cluster design with urban-rural strata. The final sample included 834 (99.5%) households and 1,144 (98.8%) females in Kano and 1,588 (93.3%) households and 1,426 (95.1%) females in Lagos who completed the interviews for the cross-sectional survey. The data was collected between December 2021 and January 2022.
Lagos Phase 3 panel data were collected among 1,656 women from Phase 1 and Phase 2 who consented to follow-up and aged 15-49y at Phase 3. Of the eligible panel sample, 75.8% of women were enrolled in the panel survey at Phase 1 between December 2019 and January 2020, and 24.2% of women were enrolled in the panel survey at Phase 2 between December 2020 and January 2021. Of the 1,656 women eligible for the panel survey at Phase 3, 21.7% of were not reached for follow-up at Phase 3. Of those reached, 1,258 (76%) completed the survey, for a response rate of 97.1% among contacted women.
